Paul passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.
Paul and his twin sister Pauline were the first-born children of Joseph and Barbara (Berger) Wehri on August 18, 1940. Paul attended elementary school at St. Clement’s Haymarsh and proudly earned his GED later in life.
While growing up on the farm with eight brothers and two sisters, Paul learned the importance of perseverance and teamwork. On the farm he learned to raise cattle, hogs, and chickens along with grains. His favorite time of the year was when he could be in the fields making hay and crop farming. He was known to do whatever was necessary to keep the equipment running.
As a young adult he was often called upon to assist relatives and neighbors with their field work and livestock. He loved helping others which earned him a place in the hearts of those around him.
He took pride in being an amazing uncle and great-uncle, showering the kids with sweet treats; creating unforgettable memories. He loved to share stories of his youth and the memories of growing up on the farm. He was a friend to all, including the farm animals. His door was always open to any visitors.
Paul enjoyed bowling and was proud of his high scores. He also had a passion for playing cards, especially pinochle.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, third and fourth degree, St. Clement's Parish and St. Ann's Parish.
Paul lived on the farm until July of 2018 when he moved into Glen Ullin. In February of 2023 he became a resident at Marian Manor Healthcare Center.
Paul is survived by six siblings, Linus (Kathy), Janice Doll, Lois (Bob) Geck, Irvin, Virgil (RaDeanna), and Raymond; three sister-in-laws; Carol (Harvey), Eileen (Bernard) and Eileen (Melvin); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Barbara; and siblings Pauline, Harvey, Bernard, Melvin and Leo; sister-in-law, Janet Wehri; and brother-in-law, Leonard Doll; nephew, Michael L Wehri; great nephew, Michael D Wehri.
