Pauline Louise Anderson, age 101, died Friday March 31, 2006 at the Marian Manor Healthcare Center in Glen Ullin. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Central Time Monday, April 3, 2006 at the Chapel of Marian Manor in Glen Ullin with Jim Price and Wilfred Goecke, officiating. Burial will be in the St. John?s Lutheran Cemetery rural Heil, ND. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday at Marian Manor and continue until the service time. Pauline was born March 24, 1905 at Loma, ND the daughter of Reinhardt and Amelia (Steinle) Bay. When she was five, the family moved to Carson where she was raised and educated. She attended Dickinson Normal School and earned her teaching certificate. She taught at Hillsboro, Hazelton, and Grant Co schools, she was the last teacher of the Thain School before it was closed. On January 4, 1944 she married William Anderson at Mandan. Following marriage they farmed in the Flasher area until 1962 when they moved to Minnesota. While in Minnesota they had a hobby farm and spent the winters in Arizona. Her beloved William died in 1971. After the death of her husband she sold the Minnesota home and moved to Almont for the summers. In 1983 she sold the Arizona home and made Almont her permanent home until 1995 when she entered the Marian Manor in Glen Ullin. Pauline is survived by her two brothers John Bay, Carson, ND and Samuel Bay Oconomowoc, WI, her six nieces and nephews Joyce Werre, Reno, NV, Janice McCarthy, Fargo, ND; Paulette Schaaf, El Dorado Springs. CO; Daryl Fliehman, Hebron, ND; Judith Bay, Peoria, AZ and Gerald Bay, Delfield, WI; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and her husband. ** In Lieu of flowers, Pauline would prefer memorials to the Anne Carlsen School.
