Pauline Ehlis

Mass of Christian Burial for Pauline Ehlis, 84, of Dickinson will be Thursday, August 7, 2003, 10:00 a. m. at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Dennis Schafer celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson.


Visitation is Wednesday, August 6, 2003, from 11:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. at the Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel with a rosary being said at 7:00 p. m.


Pauline passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2003, St. Benedict’s Health Center.


Pauline was born June 1, 1919 in Dickinson, ND to Max and Minnie Hecker. She grew up and attended country schools in Stark County. On October 21, 1940, she married John H. Ehlis in New England. Together the couple farmed seven miles NE of Dickinson where, they raised their son, Herman. In 1978, they retired and moved into Dickinson and made their home here since.


Pauline enjoyed listening to old time music, playing according and keyboard, cooking and watching cooking shows. She loved to be with her family and spending time with her grandson, Nathan.


She will be missed by her son, Herman (Carlotta) Ehlis of Dickinson and grandson, Nathan Ehlis of Dickinson. Her parents precede her in death, husband, John, one brother, and two sisters.
