A funeral Mass for Pauline Svihl, 89, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation for Pauline will be 1:00 p. m. – 8:00 p. m. , Tuesday, November 11th at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Pauline passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St. Benedicts Healthcare Center in Dickinson. Pauline Svihl was born in Stark County on March 29, 1925, the daughter of Alex and Mary (Kubischta) Rebensdorf. She grew up on the family farm near Scheffield where she also attended country school. After her father passed away, Pauline returned to the farm to help her mother. On June 9, 1949, she married Charles Svihl. The couple lived in Dickinson for a few years before moving to the Rebensdorf farm, where they worked together. Pauline and Charles later moved to the Svihl farm, northeast of Dickinson. In 1994, they retired and moved into Dickinson and she has made it her home ever since. She took pride in being at home on the farm and taking care of her family. Pauline enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing and embroidery. She was especially fond of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pauline is survived by her daughters, Deb (Steve) Huffman of Sturgis, SD, Sandy (Mike) Pierce of Aitkin, MN and Linda (Ron Groll) Speath of Buckeye, AZ; sister, Veronica Huck of Bismarck, ND; nine grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Svihl; great-grandson, Brett Wilson; and sisters, Ann Fisher and Eleanor Kadrmas.
