Peggy Ann Wold passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND surrounded by loved ones after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Peggy was born November 6, 1958 in Watford City, ND to her loving parents Herman Carlyle and Anna (Olson) Thompson. Peggy was excited to welcome her little brother Jimmy to the family who she lovingly called “Jimmy Dean”. Peggy always seemed to have a nickname for everyone. Her friends affectionately nicknamed her “Poopsie” after her favorite pet.

Growing up she attended school in Watford City, where she started dating the love of her life and future husband, Duane. Peggy graduated in 1977 from Watford City High School. She and Duane were married on July 7, 1979 at First Lutheran Church. The couple made their first home in Wahpeton, ND while Duane was attending North Dakota State School of Science. They returned to their lifelong home in Watford City in 1981 where Peggy began working for Koch Industries. Peggy worked  at the business office at Watford City High School for many years until she made her career at Lund Oil where she worked for 20 years.

Peggy and Duane were blessed with two children, Brett and Kyla, who were the joys of their lives. They did not miss any of their activities and followed them across the state to watch their hockey games. The way Peggy parented her children left no doubt that they were unconditionally loved and eternally valued. One of her proudest moments was the recent wedding of Kyla and Gary Beagles, where she instantly became a Grandmother to Matthew.

Peggy was the epitome of joy and light – a source of energy for everyone who came to know and love her. She was exceptionally loyal and made lifelong friends wherever she went.   Those that loved Peggy have “crocodile tears” as they remember her infectious laugh and contagious smile. More than anything, Peggy loved spending time at McKenzie Bay with her family and friends.  She loved watching movies, reading books on the deck, and fishing.  When she wasn’t at the lake, she would spend her time on the golf course or spoiling all the little ones of friends and family.  She also loved shopping, always having a coupon (that she had to use), and a return or two if you were going to Bismarck.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Duane; son, Brett and girlfriend Kayla Koch of Watford City; daughter, Kyla (Gary) Beagles of Watford City; grandson, Matthew of Watford City; parents, Carlyle and Anna Thompson of Watford City; brother, Jimmy Thompson of Watford City; sister-in-law Helen (Elton) Lovro of Finley, ND; brother-in-law Alvin (Marlene) Wold of Watford City; brother-in-law Ronnie (Konnie) Wold of Glendive, MT; brother-in-law Winton (Vicki) Wold of Watford City; sister-in-law Louise (Idrissa) Bamba of Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father-in law, Milton Wold; mother-in-law, Arlene Wold; as well as maternal and paternal grandparents.
