A funeral service for Peter Braun, 56, of Dickinson, will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2017 at Stevenson Funeral Home.
Visitation for Peter will be from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 6:00 p.m.
Peter passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius Health, Dickinson following a short illness.
Peter Antony Braun was born November 29, 1960 in Dickinson, the son of Louie and Martha (Pribyl) Braun. He grew up on the family farm 18 miles southwest of Dickinson in the Schefield area. He attended grade school in South Heart and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1979. It was during this time that he met Brenda Keller. Peter and Brenda were married on July 16, 1982 and were blessed with two sons: Eric and Daniel. After graduation, he began his career working in the oilfield; working for Nabors Drilling for nearly 28 years. Peter loved spending time outdoors fishing at his cabin on Skunk Bay. He enjoyed playing darts, bowling as well as softball in his younger years. Peter’s family meant the world to him and he treasured the time spent with them, especially his four beautiful grandchildren. Peter was a very caring man and was always willing to help anyone in need. He will be remembered for his booming voice and engaging smile.
Peter is survived by his sons, Eric Paul (Virginia) Braun of Fargo, and Daniel Louie (Krista) Braun of Bismarck; grandchildren, Ellie, Ruby, Jacob and Kyla; brother, Dean Braun of Chandler, AZ; sisters, Brenda (Mike) Obritsch of Rapid City, SD, LuAnn (Steve) Roberts of McMinnville, OR, and Marla Braun of Dickinson; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Martha Braun; brother, Tim Braun; and sisters, Kimberly Braun and Nancy Charles.
