Funeral service for Peter L. Jacobs, 73, of Richardton, ND will be 10 a. m. , Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND with Pastor NAME officiating. Burial will be 3 p. m. (CT) Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the North Dakota Veteran?s Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota. Visitation will be 12 p. m. to 9 p. m. , Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Peter passed away Friday, May 23, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson, ND. Peter L. Jacobs was born June 26, 1934 the son of Gerard and Jeanette (Bogers) Jacobs in Lepelstraat, Holland. Peter attended grammer school in Holland before coming to the States. He and his family came to the United States in 1949 when he was 15 years old and settled in the Regent, ND area where he farmed with his family until he enlisting in the Marine Corps in October 1956. Serving in Japan and Okinawa. He met and marred Elsie Wolff on May 20, 1962, in Chico, CA. They returned to North Dakota and purchased a dairy farm south of Richardton. It was here that they made their home and worked in the dairy business until they retired in 2001. He is survived by: his wife Elsie, Richardton; children, David Jacobs, Mott, ND, Darryl (Melinda) Jacobs, Cabot, AR, Kenny (Lorri) Jacobs, Woodward, OK and Jennifer Jacobs, Kennewick, WA; five grandchildren and four step grandchildren; siblings, Quirina (John) Denys, Oakdale, CA, Corrie (Arlie) Nass, El Paso, TX, Jane Oakdale, CA and Leo (Elaine) Jacobs, Regent, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents. Peter passed away on Friday, May 23, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson.
