Peter Jung

A Liturgy of the Word service for Peter Jung, 85, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with Deacon Bob Stockert officiating. Military Rites will be presented by the American Legion Post #3 Honor Guard. Burial will follow at the Veterans Cemetery in Mandan at 3:00 p.m. CT.


Peter passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at his home.


Peter August Jung Jr. was born August 18, 1932 to Peter and Elizabeth (Wogh) Jung on the family farm south of Havelock, ND.  He grew up helping on the family farm until he enlisted in the US Navy on January 23, 1952. Peter was honorably discharged January 6, 1956.  He then started working for American Motors Company in Milwaukee, WI until his retirement in 1989.  Peter moved to Dickinson in 1989 to be closer to family. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.  Peter enjoyed going to the casino, watching western movies, and working on crossword puzzles.


Peter is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.


Peter was preceded in death by his brothers, Valentine, Frank, Mike, William, Robert, and infant brother Phillip; sisters, Helen Welsh, Mary Wolf, Eva Fininger, Kathryn Costello, and Betty Reichert; and his parents, Peter and Elizabeth.
