Peter Kobilansky, 86 of Glen Ullin died Sunday, December 21, 2008 at the Marian Manor in Glen Ullin. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a. m. Central Time on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with Father Arul Joseph as Celebrant. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in rural Mandan on Friday at 10:00 a. m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, after 4:00pm at the church with the wake service at 7:00 p. m. Pete was born January 31, 1922 near Glen Ullin, the son of John and Eva (Rastovsky) Kobilansky. He was raised on the farm and educated in Glen Ullin, where he was a 1940 graduate. He entered the US Navy May 23, 1944, served on the USS Marvin H. McIntyre as a Gunners Mate Third Class. Following his discharge May 18, 1946 He returned to Glen Ullin. Peter, and his two brothers, Frank and Anton traveled to Detroit for a visit. Frank and Anton came back to Glen Ullin and farmed while Peter moved to Warren, MI where he was employed as a bartender until his retirement. In 1993 he moved to Bismarck. He recently moved to the Marian Manor in Glen Ullin. Pete loved to play cards both pinochle and poker; he enjoyed cooking, and especially loved to eat his sisters cooking. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Josephine, Stella Emter and Mary Emter, three brothers, Vincent, Frank, and Anton.
