Funeral Mass for Peter Sadowsky, 83 of Dickinson, formerly of Killdeer is 2:00 p. m. Sunday, September 12, 2004 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Killdeer with Father Jerry Ruelle, OSB Celebrating. Visitation will be Saturday, September 11, 2004 from 12:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. with a Rosary/Vigil at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Killdeer, continuing on Sunday from 9:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Killdeer and one hour prior to service at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Killdeer. Peter passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. He was born February 10, 1921 on the family farm in Dunn County to Anton and Helen Jablonsky Sadowsky. He attended schools at New Hradec. Peter worked on the family farm until joining the CCC?s during the late 30?s. He worked in the Medora and Watford City Camps. Peter returned to work on the family farm. On September 27, 1947 he was married to Elsie Schabary at Gladstone. They purchased a farm 2 ? miles south of Killdeer where they ranched, farmed and raised their four children. In 1990 they retired and moved into Killdeer where they lived until October of 2002 when they moved to a retirement home in Dickinson. Peter enjoyed reading, playing cards, dancing and listening to old time music. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren. Peter was a member of the Catholic Workmen, Knights of Columbus #1515 in Dickinson, served on the McKenzie Electric board for 18 years, the Cenex Oil Co. , Killdeer, Killdeer Equity Elevator, FHA organization and St. Joseph?s Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Elsie of Dickinson; two sons, Anthony (Kristie) Sadowsky, Beulah and Alvin (Sue) Sadowsky, Killdeer; two daughters, Susan Ackerman, Bismarck and Evelyn (Dale) Wahus, Watford City, ND; two sisters, Lydia (Maynard) Sherman, Anaconda, MT and Gertrude (George) Tuhy, Killdeer; a sister-in-law, Ella Sadowsky, Dickinson; nine grandchildren: Rob and Melissa Ackerman, Ashley and Tyler Wahus, Corey and Cameron Sadowsky and Dani, Austyn and Alex Sadowsky. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Sadowsky and a sister, Alice Flemming. Remembrances and condolences can be shared with the family at stevensonfuneralhome. com.
