A funeral Mass for Philomena “Minnie” Roller, 94, will be 10:00 a. m. , Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Todd Kreitinger celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation for Minnie will be Monday, May 2, 2016 from 3:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary & Vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Minnie passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson. Philomena "Minnie" Binstock was born June 14, 1921 to Frank and Rose (Faiman) Binstock on the family farm east of New Hradec in Dunn County, ND. Her grandmother, Helen (Hoerner) Faiman, was the midwife for the delivery. Minnie was the fifth of ten children born toFrank and Rose. Minnie attended school through grade 8 in New Hradec and spoke three languages: English, German, and Bohemian. Minnie met Lawrence Roller from Sheffield N. D. and they were married on Nov 24th, 1942 in a double wedding, as Lawrence's cousin Ralph Roller married Minnie's sister Helen on that same day. Minnie and Lawrence farmed 10 miles south of Belfield until late 1945 when they moved to Dickinson. Minnie lived in Dickinson for the rest of her life. She was an excellent homemaker and always had time and treats for her five sons and anyone else who came by. Onething Minnie enjoyed was making comments that surprised and delighted the people and relatives thatshe encountered. When asked a few years ago how she was feeling, she stated, "I feel so wonderful I'm thinking of running for President. " It got the chortlesthat most rewarded her. This is the personality that we will all miss. Minnie is survived by three sons, Marvin D. , Glasgow, MT; Vernon J. , (Bernadette) Bismarck, ND; and Larry W. , (Coleen) Moorhead, MN; nine grandchildren: SeanRoller, Jamie Roller of Bismarck, Dana (Heather) Roller of Lincoln, NE, Christopher Roller of Moorhead MN, William Roller of Minneapolis,MN, Andrew (Melissa) Roller of Plymouth, MN,Benjamin Roller (Alexa Unruh) of Zurich, Switzerland, Celecia Roller of Dickinson, ND; and Caylla (Ben Hegstad) of Ishpeming, MI;seven great-grandchildren; one sister Veronica Billman, of Billings, Montana; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence on Nov 5th, 1963; sons, Patrick and Bernard Roller; her parents; Frank and Rose Binstock; granddaughter, Nicole Roller; brothers, Albert, and Anton; infant brother, Edward; sisters, Anna Bren, Helen Roller, Christine Wanner, Justine Wanner, and Rose Stockert. Minnie's Catholic faith was who she was:faithful, caring, kind, loyal, humble, hardworking,and always looking after those she loved.
