Preston Freidt

A Memorial Service for Preston Friedt, 51, formerly of Dickinson, is Thursday, September 18, 2003, 2:00 p. m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Dickinson, ND with Pastor Patricia Higgins, officiating.


Visitation is Wednesday, September 17, 2003 from 9:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel.


Preston passed away September 8, 2003, in Temecula, California.


Preston was born on December 13, 1951, in Williston, ND to Frank and Maxine (Murray) Freidt. He grew up and attended schools in the Watford and Belfield areas. He enlisted into the United States Navy in 1969, serving two tours in Vietnam and being honorably discharged in 1975. Preston worked in the Oil and Gas Industry, which took him to many western states along with driving truck for Koch Oil. Preston later went to work for Tenneco Oil, which was bought by Exxon while in the Dickinson area.


Preston married Amiee (Heim) Bachmeier in Dickinson on September 24, 1988. Together they moved to Gillette in 1992 and in May of 2003, moved to Green River, Wyoming where Preston began working at Shute Creek Gas Plant.


He had a love for the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and woodworking. The pride of his life was his three granddaughters.


Preston is survived by his wife, Amiee Freidt of Green River, WY; son, Cpt. Jason Freidt (Bobbie Hoessle) of Ft. Stewart, GA; three daughters, Cherie (J. T. ) Lauridsen of Temecula, CA, Shonda (Grant) Feddema and Gerri Ann Bachmeier, all of Denver, CO; a sister Vici Murphy of Hillsboro, KS and three granddaughters, Maggie Lauridsen and Ashlyn and Ivy Feddema. His parents preceded him in death.


In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to the local chapter of the Red Cross.
