Ralph Urlacher, 74, New England, died Sunday, October 24, 2004 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a. m. , Thursday, October 28, 2004 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, New England with Fr. Basil Atwell, O. S. B. celebrating. Interment will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery, New England, with military rites provided by Anton Ulijohn Post #66. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 3:30 p. m. , Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson. Honoring Ralph?s wishes, the casket will only be open from 2 p. m. to 3:30 p. m. Visitation and viewing will continue at 5 p. m. at St. Mary?s Catholic Church with a rosary and prayer service at 7 p. m. Visitation will continue Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service. Ralph Urlacher was born March 24, 1930 in Dickinson, ND to George and Ethel (Thomas) Urlacher. He attended the Bohlman school for eight years. He served in the US Army from June 20, 1951 to March 18, 1953, during the Korean War. He married Bridget Splichal on January 8, 1958, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, New England. Together they farmed his dad?s farm for many years. Ralph enjoyed his family and friends and loved to visit with everyone. He enjoyed his Sunday drives with Mom. Ralph served as a Slope County Commissioner since 1973. Ralph was a member of 40et8 and a 50-year Legionnaire. He has served as a board member on several organizations for many years and was involved in bringing the Dakota Women?s Correctional Rehab Center to New England. Ralph is survived by: his wife, Bridget, New England; two sons, Kenny (Cheryle) Urlacher, New England and Richard (Joan) Urlacher, Dickinson; four daughters, Debbie (Tom) Wandler, New England, Bev (Gilbert) Braun, New England, Karen (Jess) Kouba, Regent and Barb (Allen Olesen) Buzalsky, New England; 19 grandchildren, Julie, Bryce and Destiny Urlacher, Sara, Amy, Donald and Heidi Urlacher, Lindsey, Scott and Kari Wandler, Danny and Dana Braun, Jamie, Jenna and Richard Kouba, Justine, Trevor, Lawrence and Keshia Buzalsky; five great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Thomas (Valerie) Urlacher, Flint, Mich. , Lawrence (Clem) Urlacher, Bowman, Vets Urlacher, Dickinson, Herbert (Clarine) Urlacher, Taylor, Jenny Tompers, Minot, Monica (Gilman) Peterson, Dickinson and rural New England; one brother-in-law, Calvin Dubisar, Prineville, Ore. He was preceded in death by: his parents; one sister, Joesphine Dubisar and one grandson, Joseph Michael Kouba.
