Funeral Services for Randolph A. Nodland, 80, of Dunn Center will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Vang Lutheran Church south of Dunn Center, ND. Burial will be in the Vang Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012 with a Prayer Service being held at 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer, ND. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the Vang Lutheran Church.
Randolph passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson, ND.
Randolph Nodland was born on May 25, 1931 the son of Ingvald and Bertha (Roknes) Nodland. The family farmed and ranched south of Dunn Center. At the age of 10, Randolph became the man of the family due to his father passing away at a young age. Randolph was married to Ileene Kopp in 1961 at Mandan, ND. Together they continued to farm and ranch on his parents’ farm where they raised their four children. When Randolph was in his fifties he was able to complete his high school education and received his GED. He was very active in farm organizations as well as a member of the Vang Lutheran Church holding several offices throughout his life. Randolph was also a member of United Plainsmen, Dakota Resource Council and the National Family Farm Coalition. He traveled extensively for these organizations including a trip to Japan, Belgium, and numerous trips to Washington D. C. Survivors include, his wife, Ileene, Dunn Center, ND; three sons, Dave (Roxann) Nodland, Dunn Center, ND; Daniel (Lisa) Nodland, Mandan, ND and Darrell (Risa) Nodland, Dickinson; a daughter, Nancy (Marshall) Hermanson, Stanley, ND; a brother, Irvin (Kathleen) Nodland, Bismarck, ND; a sister, Alice (Edward) Darwin, Killdeer, ND; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
