Funeral services for Randy Stiefel, 68, of Glen Ullin, will be 11:00 am CT, Friday, September 6, 2024 at Evangelical Congregational Church in Glen Ullin with Pastor David Skjoldal officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Randy passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Sanford Health in Bismarck.
Randy was born on May 25, 1956 in Garrison, North Dakota to Dumond and Irene (Wetzel) Stiefel. He grew up in Glen Ullin and was active in Football, Basketball, and track and graduated in 1974. After High School Randy began working at the Power Plant in Beulah running equipment. Randy also worked for Northern Improvement driving truck. In his later years he worked as a farm hand for different farmers in Glen Ullin.
Randy’s love for the outdoors was a defining part of his life whether it was fishing, camping, or hunting. He kept himself busy inside working on puzzles, making model cars, watching old westerns, and sports, especially NASCAR and football. Randy was a collector and spent much time looking for arrowheads and rattlesnake skin.
Randy will be remembered for his heart of gold, and his desire to help others, even despite his own two year battle with cancer.
The family would like to thank the staff at Marian Manor Health Care for their wonderful care and kindness that Randy received during his brief stay
Randy is survived by his mother, Irene Schnaidt of Hebron; sister, Sandy (Donn) Lang of Bismarck; brothers, Jody Stiefel of Hebron, and John (Amanda) Schnaidt of Dickinson; nephew, Jason (Jen) Stiefel of MN; and nieces, Piper Schnaidt of Dickinson and McKenna Akovenko of Mandan.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dumond; step-father, Adolph Schnaidt; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and infant brother, Richard Stiefel.
