Ralph passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, ND.
Ralph was born on July 27, 1955 in Dickinson, the son of John and Shirley (Samson) Sticka. He attended grade school in Tigard, OR, New England St. Mary’s and Mott, graduating from Dickinson High in 1974. After graduation, Ralph moved to Minot where he trained to live independently. He became employed doing various janitorial work at the Minot Air Force Base Airport and at banks in Minot. Ralph enjoyed his work and the people he worked with. Growing up, Ralph had a strong interest in astrology. He also had great penmanship and he was a good speller. He liked to read the Bible, the dictionary, and the Almanac. He also had a very special cat named Stephanie. Ralph really loved living in Minot. He was a member of the Second Story Group. During the summers he looked forward to going to the state fair. He also loved the time spent at Lake Metigoshe boating, swimming, playing games and having campfires. One summer he was able to go to Disneyworld in Florida. After saving money for three years, one of the highlights of his life was taking a trip to Hawaii last December. While enjoying his cruise there, he unfortunately had kidney failure and has been on dialysis ever since. Ralph really enjoyed time spent with family last summer at the Sticka farm. The majority of three generations attended.
Ralph is survived by his parents, John and Shirley; siblings, Paul (Laura) Sticka of Walla Walla, WA; Rita (Dennis) Baer of Richardton, Deb (Jerry) Pachl of Dickinson, Charlie (Nancy) Sticka of Buckley, WA, Janet Baisch of Boulder, CO, Linda (Tim) Plemel of Oakes, Kathy (Don) Hangas of Bonney Lake, WA, Kristie Sticka of Whitehall, PA; 26 nieces and nephews and 19 great-nieces and nephews.
