Ray Schinnert, 59, Dickinson, formerly of Detroit Lakes and Ponsford, MN, died Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, due to a life-long battle with heart disease. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p. m. , Friday, October 28, 2005 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Austin Vetter celebrating. Interment will be in St. Patrick?s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be noon ? 9 p. m. , Thursday, October 27, 2005 and will continue on Friday from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. at Price-Murphy Funeral Home. Ray William Schinnert was born August 20, 1946, in Rochester, MN to Paul and Althea (Taylor) Schinnert. He lived in this area until 1956, when he and his family moved to Red Lake, MN. In 1965, he graduated from Red Lake High School. After graduation, Ray left for Portland, Oregon, to attend Mount Hood College, Portland. Ray moved back to Minnesota (Minneapolis) in 1967, where he met and married Leona Brown on April 3, 1969 in Minneapolis. They lived in this area for 12 years, before moving to Ponsford in June of 1979. They then moved to Detroit Lakes on November 5, 1999 and then to Dickinson, ND on March 24, 2005. He held various positions, including maintenance, school night guard, machinist, and security guard. He is survived by: his wife, Leona, Dickinson; one daughter, Rita Schinnert, Dickinson; three grandchildren, Chad, Mickaela and Jade Cianni, Dickinson, and one brother, Max Lussier, Thief River Falls, MN. He was preceded in death by: his parents; three sisters, Rita Ann, Dixie Ann, and Nancy Dee Lussier.
