Raymond Klein

Funeral services for Raymond V. Klein, 78, of Hebron will be at 2:00 p. m. CDT on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Hebron, ND with Pastor Marcy Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at the Congregational Cemetery in Hebron. Visitation will be from 6:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Prayer service at 7:30 p. m. CDT on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Hebron and will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Ray passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at MedCenter One in Bismarck, ND. Ray Klein was born February 27, 1932 at Burt, ND. He is the son of the late Henry H. and Anna (Schatz) Klein. He farmed with his brother and parents for 15 years. In 1948, his parents bought the Henry Neidhardt farm, moving them to the Hebron area, where he farmed with them until 1953. On June 21, 1953 he married Erma Steingrueber and in the fall they moved to Minneapolis where Ray was employed at Munsingwear, Inc. as a mechanic. In 1975, Ray and Erma purchased the farm from Ray?s dad, which had originally belonged to Erma?s uncle. Ray was employed at Diversified Insulation at Dickinson, K&E Manufacturing in Hebron and at the Hebron Brick Company, where he helped build the new Kiln. He received a certificate of welding at Beulah and also drove the school bus at Hebron for 32 years. Ray and his brother Harold were noted for their old time music many years ago, with Ray playing the piano and Harold the accordion, where they played for many dances and also just for entertainment. Later, Kenny, his brother joined in by playing the drums. Ray was a member of the First Congregational Church, where he served as a trustee and usher for many years. Ray loved spending time with his family and playing cards. He enjoyed raising and feeding cattle and would sit in his tractor and watch them eat for hours. Ray?s health suffered over the last nine years but he kept a good attitude and always joked around with the doctors and nurses, even on his very last day. From Ray and Erma?s marriage, they had four children, Dave (Connie) Klein, Dickinson, ND; Jackie (Ryan) Lefor, Gladstone, ND; Jocelyn Klein (Scott Burian-special friend), Manning, ND; and Dale Klein (Cindy Kongslie-friend), Hebron. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold and Kenneth.
