Raymond passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2004 as the result of an automobile accident. Raymond was born on February 1, 1913 to Samuel and Anna (Wetzel) Noftsker in Baker. He grew up and attended schools in Baker. Ray began working with the CCC?s in Glacier Park around 1936 and 1937. He also trapped with his brother, Irvin on the family farm and mined for gold in the Black Hills. Raymond was married to Margaret Drager on May 28, 1938 in Algona, IA. They moved back to the farm south of Baker in 1939. To this union three children were born, Carol Mae, Delores Ann and Roger Raymond. They sold the farm and moved into Baker in 1950, where Ray worked in the oilfield and later for the City of Baker. His first love was for the Lord. His greatest burden was to see all of his family come to know Jesus. He supported various missions and taught Sunday school for many years at the Baker Wesleyan Church were he was a member. He took great care of his beloved wife, Margaret before she passed away. Anyone who knew Ray knew he enjoyed to tell about his latest fishing and hunting story. Ray?s family knows they have lost a great prayer warrior.
