Raymond Sailer, known to most as ?Spot?, 77, of Williston, and formerly of Hebron, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the Bethel Lutheran Home in Williston. A memorial service will be held in Hebron at a later date, at that time his ashes will be interred at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan. Raymond was born December 27, 1931, on a farm southeast of Hebron. He was the son of Karl and Mary (Wiege) Sailer. He was the youngest of six children born to them. He was raised and attended school in Hebron. He entered the US Air Force December 28, 1951, and served during the Korean Conflict. Following discharge on December 8, 1955, he returned to Hebron but continued in the Air Force Reserves until 1959. Ray married Diane Wetzstein on September 2, 1967 in Glen Ullin. Ray became a father to Diane?s children, Joe and Dana, he loved them like they were his own children. Ray was blessed with two children from this marriage, Melissa and Michael. Although Ray and Diane divorced in 1982, they remained very good friends. Ray owned and operated the Four Spot Bar and the Standard gas station in Hebron, ND. He also worked for Auto Implement Company and Hebron Brick Company driving truck. Ray was a member of the First Baptist Church, American Legion and the Hebron Fire Department. In 1990, Ray moved to Williston to be closer to his daughter, Melissa and her family. Ray?s passions were hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, gardening, playing pool with his friends and driving around town. Ray will be greatly missed by his family and friends he had a wonderful sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He is survived by his children: Melissa (Kevin) Corcoran of Williston; Michael (Allyson) Sailer of Reno, NV; Joe (Jill) Wetzstein of Dickinson; Dana (Brian) Scholz of Lefor, ND. Eight grandchildren: Destin Cole, Dakota, and Hunter Corcoran; Addison and Zachary Sailer; Ariana Wetzstein; Brandon and Josh Scholz. He is also survived by his sisters: Gertrude Entzel, Glendive, MT; Mildred (Clarence) Roth, Bismarck, ND; his brother: Arnold (Viola) Sailer, Bismarck, ND; his sister-in-law Alma Sailer, Bismarck, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Harry and Lawrence.
