Regina passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at her home in New England.

The beginning of a beautiful soul began on April 3, 1930. Reggie and her twin sister Mary, were born to Carl and Margaret (Urlacher) Gartner. She married Vernon Gentz, a handsome soldier, home from war in 1946. To this union seven children were born: Toni, Babs, Guy, Jan, Gregg, Karl and Michele. She endured the loss of Babs, Gregg, and Jan. It was her unceasing devotion to the Blessed Mother and the Holy Spirit that made her persevere and make a happy life for her family and she did. The stars were in alignment the day she became our mother and we are eternally grateful.

Her cup was not only half full, it was overflowing. She found pleasure in the simplest of things; her flower and vegetable garden, a beautiful sunset, even a glass of ice-water with lemon was “refreshing.” One of her favorite words. Knitting and crafting were things that she loved and excelled in, and she was always looking for the next fun project.

Reggie’s family was her world. She was always up for a road trip for a game, or family gathering with the kids and grandkids. Her favorite times were the 4th of July in Medora, picking up Jack’s chicken, staying all day, visiting with Sheila, the musical and fireworks. There has been a fortune cookie saying taped to her napkin holder for years so that she saw it and lived it every day. It says “Be expressive and positive in words, acts and feelings.”

She is survived by her children, Toni (Gary) Jung, Guy, Karl, and Michele “Missy” Osmon; grandchildren, Greg (Jen) Jung, their children: Landen, Ireland, and Aiden, Jason Jung and daughter Jasmine, Kristin Jung, and daughter Piper, Jenifer Gentz and son Christian, and granddaughter Anastasia, Kyle Gentz (Tressa) and their children: Skyler, Dena, Aspen, Evan Johannigman, Varity (Nick) McCulloch and son Logan, and Elijah Johannigman; brothers, Ray (Rosie) Gartner, Arnie (Arlene) Gartner and Charlie (Edie) Gartner; sister, Adzi (Will) Schmaltz; and nieces and nephews that she held dear.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Margaret Gartner; husband, Vernon; children, Babs, Gregg, and Jan; twin sister Mary; sisters, Leona (Archie) Jalbert, Catherine (Leo) Jacobs, and Edie (Ernie) Hey; brothers-in-law, Will Schmaltz, Dick Schatz, and Leo Jacobs.

Thank you Missy for taking care, loving, and protecting our beloved mother. Words can’t express how much we appreciate you.

Gentz Reggie
