Regina passed away after a prolonged illness on Friday, May 1, 2009 at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson, surrounded by her family. Regina was born March 17, 1935 in Dickinson, to Peter and Mildred (Rambousek) Hanel. She grew up and attended Lehigh and South Heart grade schools, later attending Central High School. For several years, she was a nanny for an area family. On May 5, 1952, Regina was married to Raymond A. Ridl at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. To this union, five children were born: Diane, Marie, Kathy, Margie and Allen. They raised their children in the home they currently reside in. Regina?s Catholic faith was very important to her and she served the church faithfully. She was a member of St. Ann?s Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, and an active member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She had a knack for baking and was well known for her kolaches. Regina had a very generous personality. You would never enter her home and leave without being well fed. Her sense of humor was contagious and she always enjoyed a good joke. She also enjoyed coffee with her family and friends at the Paragon, picnics and family gatherings.
