Relvin passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Quality Personal Care in Baker, MT. Relvin Montague Larson was born January 19, 1924, the fourth child of Robert Melvin ?R. M. ? and Arda Theresa (Young) Larson on the family ranch four and a half miles west of Baker, MT. He grew up on the family farm (Camp 1) and attended school in Baker where he graduated. Relvin helped his Dad and brothers with a successful dairy, cattle and dry land farm until 1954 when he married the love of his life, Bonita ?Bonnie? Moody. Relvin and Bonnie were married on December 14, 1954 in Miles City, MT. They were blessed with a daughter, Connie. Relvin and Bonnie purchased the neighbor?s farm directly across Highway 12 from Camp 1 to establish Camp 2. They stayed on their farm until November 2008 when medical issues required them to move into Quality Personal Care in Baker. The Larson brothers actively farmed and ranched for years and together acquired more land near the original homestead and other places including Ismay, Olive, Terry and Mildred. Relvin purchased a semi-truck in 1948 and used it to transport cattle to market and move combines and equipment to the different farms. He would recount his trips to Billings when there were two auctions there. He could buy cows at one and take them to the other to sell for a quick profit. With all of the family?s equipment, trucks and cars, Relvin became an excellent mechanic and welder. He welded together a green house and flower planters for Bonnie and also built stock cars for his brother Rodney and himself to race at the local tracks. Relvin also collected guns and was a hunting guide for numerous groups that would enjoy his service every year on the land west of Baker. Relvin is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Larson, Baker, MT; his nephew, Dale Milligan, Columbus, MT; two grandchildren, Sandra Scollard and Daryn Schoenberger and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Arda, his daughter; Connie Schoenberger and his siblings, Phyllis Larson, Priscilla Milligan, Robert Larson and Rodney Larson. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank Quality Personal Care for the care given to Relvin this past four years.
