Reta Wetzel

Funeral services for Reta Wetzel, 82, Glen Ullin, ND, will be 10:00 a. m. CDT, Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Glen Ullin with Pastor Chris Walstad officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p. m. CDT, Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home in Glen Ullin. Reta passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Medcenter One in Bismarck, ND. Reta Doll was born on August 9, 1927, to Matt and Christine (Emter) Doll on the family farm near the St. Joe area in Morton County. She attended country school, and after school, continued to help on the farm. On July 17, 1948, Reta married Alvin Wetzel at a home in Glen Ullin. Several years later, they purchased the home and lived there ever since. During this time, Reta began working at Gamble?s Hardware Store. She later worked for Roy Dittus at the Hardware Hank Store in Glen Ullin and retired some time later. Reta loved cooking and baking and was known to read countless cookbooks searching for new recipes. She also enjoyed gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandson and his family. Reta is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Kenneth) Roth; Gladstone, ND; grandson Tate (Dawn) Roth, Savage, MN; great-grandchildren Rehn, Hale, and Aryel; sisters Irene (Pete) Wetzel, Glen Ullin, Dorene Wiege, Hebron, and Lorene Doll, Hebron; and special friends Clarence and Phyllis Wetzel, Irene Wetzel, Lynda Kottre, Linda and Ron Verworn and Kerry Fitterer. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Alvin; an infant son; two brothers; and one sister.
