Funeral Services for Reuben A. Schneider, 83, of Hebron, ND, will be 11:00 a. m. CST. , Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the St. John United Church of Christ in Hebron with Pastor Gaylund Olson officiating. Burial will be in the St. John?s Cemetery later this spring. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at St. John Church in Hebron. Reuben passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Medcenter One Mandan Living Center in Mandan, ND. Reuben was born on May 23, 1926, in Morton County, the son of August and Sophie (Heinle) Schneider. He grew up and attended country school south of Hebron. Reuben was drafted into the U. S. Army, which he served from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War and was stationed in Panama. After returning to western North Dakota, he began a trucking business. Reuben was married to Helen Nagel on May 23, 1973, and together they farmed until 1993 when Reuben retired. After retiring, they moved into Hebron and have made it their home since. He enjoyed woodworking and making old time wagons. He also enjoyed having coffee with his friends and buddies and was well known for telling jokes and stories to all. Reuben was a member of the Henry Biffert Post 100 -American Legion Club of Hebron. Survivors include his wife, Helen, Hebron; two step-sons, Bryan Heinle, Kent, WA, and Barry Heinle, Arvada, CO; two brothers, Raymond A. (Agnes) Schneider, Glen Ullin, and Harold (Verna) Schneider, Enumclaw, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stewart; and two brothers, Albert and Walter.
