Memorial Service for Reva Joy Freeze, 70, of Folsom, CA, formerly of the 101 community southeast of Baker, MT will be 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at American Lutheran Church in Baker, MT with Pastors Reba & Bruce Kolasch officiating. Inurnment will follow in the family lot at the Bonnievale Cemetery, Baker, MT. Reva passed away on Monday, December 4, 2006 at her home in Folsom after a hard fought battle with cancer. Reva Joy Freeze was born on February 22, 1936, a daughter of Llewell Floyd and Theresa Mary (Souba) Johnson at Baker, MT. Reva grew up on the Johnson ranch in the 101 community southeast of Baker. She attended the Scoles Country School through the eighth grade, and then attended Baker High School, graduating with the class of 1954. After graduation, Reva worked in the local ASCS office in Baker. It was there she met the love of her life, Kenneth Don Freeze. Reva and Kenneth were married in Miles City, MT on November 25, 1957. To this union Kathy and Dale were born. After their marriage, Reva joined Kenneth in Stillwater, OK where Kenneth was a junior at Oklahoma State University. Reva was a wife and mother for her 49 years of marriage. Besides her most important job, Reva also worked for the Whittier Daily News, in Whittier, CA in the circulation department from 1970 to September of 1978. Then Kenneth was transferred to Washington, D. C. While living in Washington, she became the Assistant Circulation Manager of the Fairfax Journal. Reva worked for the Fairfax Journal from September 1978 to February 1981. Kenneth was transferred back to California, and Reva again assumed her old job at the Whittier Daily News, where she assumed the role of Assistant Circulation Manager. Reva and Kenneth lived in LaHabra, CA until they moved to Folsom where they have made their home since. During their marriage, Reva and Kenneth have traveled across the United States, from California to Hawaii, New York, Maine, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Montana, Arizona, New Mexico and all points in between traveling to every state in the Unionwith the exception of Florida, Alaska and South Carolina. Reva was an expert in bridge and pinochle. She played in four bridge groups and two pinochle groups. Reva loved to hike in the Sierra Mountains and camping at the Kern River on Memorial Day weekends. Reva?s greatest passion and love was for her family. As a young girl Reva was baptized in the American Lutheran Church in Baker, and continued to attend church there until she left Baker. Reva is survived by her husband, Kenneth Freeze, Folsom, CA, a daughter, Kathy Jo (Mike) Chavez, Walnut, CA, a son, Dale Freeze (and special friend Ana Mocan), Costa Mesa, CA; three brothers, Llewell (Betty) Johnson, Baker, MT, DuWayne (Edith)Johnson, Hinsdale, MT and Darrell (Joann) Johnson, Baker, MT and three grandchildren, Ryan Chavez, Tristan Chavez and Miranda Chavez. Her parents, Llewell and Theresa Johnson preceded her in death.
