Funeral Services for Richard ?Dick? Baar, 75 of Dickinson are at 10:00 a. m. Monday, October 25, 2004 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Inurnment will follow at the Dickinson Mausoleum. A Prayer Service will be at 7:00 p. m. , Sunday, October 24, 2004 at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Dick passed away Monday, October 18, 2004 at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Dickinson. He was born March 14, 1929 on the family farm near Lefor, the son of Frank X. and Theresa Huth Baar. He grew up and attended country school near Gladstone. Dick graduated from Model High School in Dickinson. He was an avid baseball player for the Gladstone and Lefor teams and was the Lefor Manager. On November 24, 1952 he was married to Rosalene Hollinger at St. Elizabeth?s Church in Lefor. Three children were born to this union. Dick married Mildred Wentz Fandrich on February 19, 1975 at Las Vegas, NV. Dick was the manager of Interstate Seed in Dickinson and then worked in sales at the Dickinson Press. He owned and operated the Mint Bar and later was manager for the Elks, Eagles and German Hungarian Clubs. After his retirement, Dick drove cars for Dan Porter Motors and Dean Bender. Dick was a member of the Eagles, KC Club, St. Anthony Club, German-Hungarian Club and a lifetime member of the Elks Club. Dick was active with the Trinity High PTA and served as President of Interstate Seed. Survivors include his wife, Mildred of Dickinson; two sons: Rick Baar of San Diego, CA and Dr. Russell (Carolyn) Baar of Salinas, CA; a daughter, Rhonda (Tim) Schulze of Delano, MN; two step-sons: David (Charisse) Fandrich of Mandan, ND and Tom (Bonnie) Fandrich of Spokane, WA; a step-daughter, Kathleen (Sam) Smith of Colorado Springs, CO; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers: Emil Baar of Helena, MT, Joe (Kathryn) Baar of Gladstone and Ed (Veronica) Baar of Dickinson; two sisters-in-law, Alice Baar and Kathryn Barr of Dickinson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; three brothers: Frank, Carl and Albert Baar and five sisters: Rose Albertsen, Marie Walth, Katherine Gutenkunst, Theresa Gutenkunst and Ann Wehner.
