Rita Keller

The funeral service for Rita Marie Schmaltz Keller, 51, Louisville, KY, formerly of Dickinson, will be at 8 a. m. , Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Interment will be in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Dickinson. A prayer service will be at held at 7 p. m. , Friday, May 4, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Visitation was held in Kentucky on Wednesday, May 2, 2007. Rita passed away April 30, 2007 in Louisville, Kentucky. Rita Schmaltz was born December 9, 1955 to Stanley and Elsie Schmaltz. She was raised in Richardton and Dickinson. She attended St. Mary?s School in Richardton, and St. Patrick?s Grade School and Trinity High School in Dickinson. Rita enjoyed working on craft projects and she also spent countless hours working in her yard and garden. She loved sharing her garden bounty with friends and co-workers in Kentucky. Rita was happiest when she was making others happy. She spent lots of weekends and holidays with her children in Tennessee and thoroughly enjoyed being a proud granny to her little grandson, Kraig. She always enjoyed her trips back to North Dakota, spending time with her family and friends here. She was a long-time employee of the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Louisville. She is survived by: her daughters, Melinda (Kevin) Adkins, and her grandson, Kraig, Johnson City, TN, Amanda Keller, Johnson City, TN; her father, Stanley Schmaltz, Dickinson; brother, David (Charlene) Schmaltz, Mandan; sister, Norma Myers, Grand Forks; several nieces and nephews, and five great-nephews and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Elsie, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
