Robert Bader

Funeral services for Robert Bader, 85, of Mott, ND, formerly of New Leipzig, ND will be 10:30 a. m. , Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Leipzig, ND with Pastor John Amundson officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Leipzig, ND. Visitation will be 3 p. m. to 6 p. m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Leipzig followed by a family service at 7:00 p. m. at the church. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a. m. until service time at the church on Saturday. Robert passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the Mott Good Samaritan Center in Mott, ND. Robert Henry Bader was born September 17, 1922 to John and Julia (Weller) Bader, of New Leipzig, ND. He lived his entire life in New Leipzig, where he was a businessman and active member of the community. He married Verletta Roberts of Mott in November of 1960. Together they had two sons, Jeff and John. At the time of his death, Robert was a resident of the Mott Good Samaritan Center. Robert dedicated his life to his family, community and church. Along with his brother Ray, he owned Bader Implement and farmed several hundred acres in the New Leipzig area. Robert enjoyed telling stories and could regularly be found visiting with friends and playing cards over coffee. He had many friends and was well liked for his easy-going nature and willingness to help those in need. He treasured his brothers, sisters and their families, never missing a chance to visit. Robert is survived by his two sons; Jeff (Donna) of Kent, Washington and John (Toshie) of Cedar Rapids, IA; two step-children, Richie(Sharon)Grosz, Blaine, MN and Carlene Schiff, Dickinson, ND; two sisters, Alma Mueller, of New Leipzig and Elaine (Harry) Hanson of Edina, MN; one brother, Meinhardt (Delores) Bader of Grand Forks, ND, and three grandchildren, Kristen, Jessica and Ryan; four step-grandchildren and 19 step- great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Julia Bader; his wife, Verletta, and two brothers, Ray and Marvin.
