Robert Kelly Hoffman, 48, of Miles City passed away suddenly, Monday, December 16, 2002. He was born April 6, 1954 in Chicago, IL the son of Adrian and Darlene (Stigen) Hoffman. Bob grew up and attended schools in Washington and California, before graduating from high school in Monroe, WA. He enlisted into the US Navy on January 18, 1973. Bob served in the South Pacific and the evacuation of Vietnam and received the National Defense service medal. He was honorably discharged on July 14, 1975 at San Diego, CA. After serving his country, Bob enrolled into Edmonds Community College in Washington. Bob had started his career in electrical work after the eighth grade. His stepfather, ?Papa? Carl worked diligently to prepare him for the future with a good work ethic. After finishing college, he moved to Sacramento, CA to begin working. Bob lived there for several years before moving to Miles City. He thoroughly enjoyed his employment with A & A Electrical in Miles City. Work was a very important part of Bob?s life. He loved fishing, building and fixing, children and being close to family. Those who knew Bob will remember him being a compassionate, loving and generous person. He had a wonderful personality and a sense of humor. Bob lived his life exactly the way he wanted. Everyday was a party. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and father, Adrian. Bob is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Darlene and Carl Grieb of Ekalaka; stepmother, Betty Hoffman of Santa Maria, CA; four brothers: John (Sandy) Hoffman of Santa Maria, CA, Patrick (Kerri) Grieb of Sequim, WA, Stacy (Sheryl) Grieb and Rick (Bonnie) Reese all of Everett, WA; three sisters: Kristi Molina and Jan Grieb both of Bremerton, WA and Kandis (Buster) Brewer of Ekalaka; nephews: Aaron (Kim) Swanson and their children, Zach, Levi & Kelly, Mike (Stephanie) Blue and their child, Trevor, Garrett Grieb, Justin Hoffman, Shane & Michael Grieb and Chris Keithley; nieces: Amy (Nate) Berg and their children, Wyatt & Wade, Megan Blue, Crystal Borrison, Brandi Brewer, and Amber Grieb; and numerous special aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral Services will take place Saturday, Dec. 21, at 3 PM at the First Baptist Church in Ekalaka. A reception will follow the service in the church basement. Visitation hours for friends will begin on Saturday at 8 AM at the First Baptist Church in Ekalaka.
