Robert Victor Hutton passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2004, in Ajo, Arizona of natural causes. He was 77 years old. Robert Victor Hutton was born on April 14, 1926, the son of William and Goldie (Blair) Hutton in Ekalaka, Montana. He was raised and educated in the Mill Iron Country. The family moved to the Beaver Flat area in 1942. In 1944 Bob was inducted into the U. S. Army and served in the European Theater. He was honorably discharged in 1947. He was very patriotic and it was considered such an honor to him to have served our country. Bob was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #7885 in Ekalaka, MT. , and the International Order of the Oddfellows. Bob returned to the Beaver Flat area and married Betty Martens on November 9, 1949. They raised six boys. Bob farmed and ranched most of his life. In 1987 they moved to Gillette, Wyoming to be closer to family while working for XLT for ten years. He enjoyed his family, and spent lots of time visiting with all of them. Bob?s favorite pastime was visiting, he never knew a stranger. Everything could wait if he was visiting. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty, of Gillette; his sons, Ken (Pam) Hutton, Kerry (Carla) Hutton, Tim (Margie) Hutton, Tom (Dena) Hutton and Bill Hutton; one brother, Jim (Gloria) Hutton; a sister in law, Jennie; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Opal and Verle; one brother, Joe; his oldest son, Bob and a grandson, Wade. Funeral services for Robert Victor Hutton of Gillette, Wyoming will be at 10:00 A. M. , Thursday, February 5, 2004 at the Ekalaka Bible Church in Ekalaka, Montana with Pastor Wallace Fox officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February, 4, 2004 at the Stevenson Funeral Home in Ekalaka, Montana from 6 until 8 P. M. Interment will follow with military honors at the Beaver Lodge Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Senior Citizens Center of Gillette, Wyoming and donations may be sent in care of the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5TH St. , Gillette, Wyoming 82716.
