Robert Schmaltz, 63, Cumberland, Wisconsin, formerly of Dickinson, died Friday, April 28, 2006, in Cumberland, Wisconsin. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:30 p. m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Dennis Schafer celebrating. Interment will be in Barton Cemetery, Waupaca, WI. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p. m. Tuesday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home. There will be a rosary and prayer service at 7 p. m. Tuesday, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, led by Deacon Al Schwindt. Robert Schmaltz was born July 14, 1942, in Dickinson, ND to Nick and Adeline (Zander) Schmaltz. He grew up in Dickinson and attended country school. Robert married Darlene Jensen on December 21, 1984, in Dickinson. He worked for Royal Oak Enterprises for 40 plus years, including 15 years as plant manager in Eagle Point, OR. After retiring four years ago, they moved to Cumberland, WI. Robert enjoyed fishing and gardening and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by: his wife, Darlene, Cumberland, WI, children, Janille (Steve) Olson, Eagle Point, OR, Brian (Cheryl) Schmaltz, Hubbardston, MA, Teressa (Wayne) Keck, Billings, MT, step children, David Wilson, Waupaca, WI, and Sgt. Patrick (Rica) Wilson, USMC; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren; mother, Adeline Schmaltz, Dickinson; brothers and sisters, LaVerne Kessel, Star Buck, WA, Donna (Arnie) Betlaf, Dickinson, Sharon (Bob) Roshau, Dickinson, Linda (Joe) Wanner, Gladstone, Pat (Thurman) Wolf, Dickinson, Bertie (Kurt) Gustafson, Dickinson, Nick, Jr. (Carol) Schmaltz, Bernie (Mike) Wolf, Dickinson, Char (Elldean) Maychrzak, Scranton, ND, and Raymond Schmaltz, Dickinson; mother-in-law, Betty Jensen, Waupaca, WI and sisters-in-law, Anneliese Schmaltz, Dickinson, ND and Ellen Wilson, Waupaca, WI. He was preceded in death by his father, Nick; brothers, Allen and Ralph; his father-in-law, LeRoy Jensen, and one niece, Renee Schmaltz.
