Robert Todd

A funeral service for Robert Todd 74, Dickinson will be 11:00 a. m. , Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with Pastor Janel Kolar officiation. Burial will follow in Dickinson. Military Honors will be presented by the Dickinson American Legion Post #3 Honor Guard. Robert passed away Friday, November 18 at his home, surrounded by his family. Robert Richard Todd was born January 8, 1942 in Scottsbluff Nebraska to Albert and Molly (Troudt) Todd. He graduated high school and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1962. He was honorably discharged four years later. Robert and Janice Nelson married on May 19, 1965 in Spring Valley California. They were blessed with three daughters; Cheryl, Tammi and Kristi. Robert worked for Co-op Farm Land Refinery in Gering NE, for 15 years and then Gary Refinery for a year. He then worked for Western Nebraska Veteran Home as a maintenance supervisor for 17 years before retiring to Dickinson to be closer to his grandchildren. Robert was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. He enjoyed carpentry and coaching his daughter’s softball teams. Robert recently baptized four of his grandchildren, wife and daughter which he was extremely proud about. He will be greatly missed by his family. Robert is survived by his wife, Janice; daughters, Cheryl Todd (Paul Wosepka) of Dickinson, Tammi (Eddie) Schanaman of Mesa, AZ, Kristi (Bruce) Todd-Stillings of Dickinson; sister, Nadine Surrett of Lyman, NE; grandchildren Anthony James Hort, Debuque (Kelley) Schanaman, Nashion Schanaman, Craig (Danielle) Hort, Aubree Schanaman, Taylor Hort, Calessa (Sean) English, Samuel Stillings, Emma Stillings and Sophia Stillings; 7 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog Abbey. He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Molly Todd; brothers, Steve, Carl and Harold; sister, Geneva; and mother-in-law, Mabel Nelson. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations be made to the MDS foundation.
