A Memorial Service for Roland G. Raisler, 88, of Beach will be 10:00 a. m. , Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016 at the United Community Church in Beach with Pastor Warren Maxted. Inurnment will take place in Beach at a later date. Visitation will be from 3:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. A Masonic service will be held at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson at 7:00 p. m. Roland passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Wibaux County Nursing Home in Wibaux, MT. Roland was born March 17, 1928 on the farm near Beach, the son of George L. and Albie (Tomek) Raisler. He was raised on the farm southeast of Beach. He attended Lone Tree District – Rocky Butte School near Golva through the eighth grade, and graduated from Beach High School in 1945. Roland was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Dotzler on June 21, 1950 in Beach, ND. To this union, Debra, Judith, Betty and John were born. The couple raised their family on the farm near Beach where they were specialized growers of Foundation Seed Potatoes and grew small grains and livestock. Roland worked with NDSU to develop new varieties of certified seed potatoes. He was a hardworking man and in 1986, he and Mary retired and moved to Beach and later to Dickinson. Roland and Mary’s wish was to return to Beach where they made their home at the Golden Valley Manor in Beach. In his spare time Roland enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, reading, general electrical and mechanic work. Roland was a member of the United Community Church of Beach where he served on the church board. He was a member of the Elks and an active member of Sunset Masonic Lodge #88 AF & AM of Beach and Roosevelt Memorial Lodge 129 AF & AM of Belfield. Roland also served as secretary for the Sunset Masonic Lodge and was a member of the El Zagal Shrine. Roland is survived by three daughters, Debra (Terry) O’Brien of Dickinson, Judith (Lance) Bospflug of Lafayette, LA, and Betty (Joel) Hamar of Ellendale, ND; son, John (Denise) Raisler of Beach, ND; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and sister, Florence Bryant of Yuma, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Albie; his wife, Mary; and sister, Ethel Carlson.
