Ron Anton, 72, loving husband and father, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010, at his home in Dickinson with his family around him. After a difficult struggle with cancer, he joined his Lord and Savior in Heaven. Ron was born July 3, 1937, to Jack and Margaret (Morel) Anton at home in Dickinson, ND. He grew up in Dickinson and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Dickinson Central High School. Ron entered the United States Army on January 26, 1955, and was honorably discharged on December 31, 1962. During that time, he married Arletta Marie Sickler on January 31, 1959, at St. Patrick’s Church in Dickinson. Ron worked as a supervisor for Royal Oak Industries for nearly 30 years before semi-retirement in 1990. Later, he attained his CDL as a professional truck driver from Dickinson State University. Ron and Arlie have always made Dickinson their home. Ron was loyal to God, his family, country, and work. He cherished his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron enjoyed gardening and was famous for his hot pepper plants. He was avidly interested in politics, genealogy, and photography. Ron loved the Lord, and one of his favorite scriptures from the Bible was John 3:16, For God so loved the world
