Funeral Mass for Ronald W. Dukart, 79, of Dickinson will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Msgr. Thomas Richter celebrating. Military Funeral honors will be provided by Dickinson American Legion Post #3. Burial will take place at the North Dakota Veteran’s cemetery, Mandan, ND.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a Rosary and Vigil service taking place at 6:00 p.m.
Ron passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 9, 2024 in Dickinson.
Ronald William Dukart was born October 29, 1944 in Dickinson, ND, to Peter R. and Mary (Doleckek) Dukart. He grew up on the family farm near Schefield, ND. Ron attended grade school at St. Pius in Schefield before attending high school at St. Mary’s High School in New England, ND. In 1965, Ron enlisted in the United States Army and served in Korea. Upon being honorably discharged, he returned to Dickinson where he operated his own cabinet shop. It was during this time that he met Alice Privratsky and the two were married on February 6, 1967. The couple was blessed with five children, Chad, Michelle, Amy, Dana and Kelley. In 1971, Ron began working for TMI. Over the next 36 plus years, Ron worked in various departments for TMI, such as architectural woodwork, materials management and logistics. After his retirement in 2007, he remained busy managing and maintaining his apartment rentals as well as a small woodworking business. Queen of Peace was very important to Ron. He dedicated countless hours maintaining the building and grounds of the church as well as volunteering and serving on the church finance council.
Ron was a skilled woodworker and always found time to work on one of his projects, big or small. He loved sports and could usually be found watching football, basketball, golf, or tennis. He was a member of St. Pius Verein, Knights of Columbus and Queen of Peace Church. Ron loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren whenever he could. His #1 favorite treat was ice cream. He will be remembered for his hardworking, dedicated, and selfless attitude, along with a skilled ability to take projects from good to great.
Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice; children, Chad (Laura) Dukart, Rochester Hills, MI; Michelle (Mike) Branco, Honolulu, HI; Amy (Scott) Olson, Whitefish, MT; Dana (Ryan) Roshau, Fargo, ND; Kelley (Katie) Fargo, ND; eleven grandchildren, Tyler, Drew, Gabriel, Emile, Sophie, Sadie, Lily, Sela, Adam, Noah and Stella; siblings, Clyde Dukart, Dickinson; Gerald Dukart, Cambridge, MN; Charlotte (Ed) Friedt, Eagle, ID; Adella Thomas, Henderson, CO; Charlene (Nick) Dengel, Dewey, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary; in-laws, Albert and Emma Privratsky; sister-in-law, Rosie Richard; and nephews, Ben Richard and Ryan Privratsky.
