Ronald Fuchs

Services for Ronald W. Fuchs, 63, of Dickinson will be 2:00 p. m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Ron passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society Care Center, Mott, ND. He fought cancer with strength and courage for several years. Ron was born on September 30, 1952 in Dickinson, ND, the son of the late Walter and Leone (Koenig) Fuchs. Ron attended Dickinson High School, graduating in 1970. He then attended Wahpeton School of Science. Ron was employed by Cloverdale in Dickinson in the 1970s. He worked as a seismographer for several years and then was a heavy equipment operator for Northern Improvement. Ron was a strong man who fought his illness with determination beyond what was expected. Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends. He enjoyed good food and was a good cook. He loved dogs, especially Chihuahuas. Ron had a Chihuahua named Marty who was a therapy dog at the nursing home where Ron spent his final days. This puppy provided Ron and the residents with much joy and entertainment. Ron is survived by four siblings: Tim Fuchs and wife Cathe of Grafton, WI, Peggy Piekos and husband Martin of Londonderry, NH, Clark Fuchs and wife Karen Lewis of Bismarck, ND, Curt Fuchs and wife Joanna of Dickinson, ND, and Joan Messer, friend, of Dickinson, ND.
