Funeral Mass for Ronald P. Kovash, 63 of Dickinson will be 2:00 p. m. Monday, January 1, 2007 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Jeff Zwack, Father Patrick Schumacher and Father James Braaten, concelebrating. Entombment will follow at the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will begin Saturday December 30, 2006 from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Sunday visitation will be from 9:00 a. m. to 4:00 at Stevenson Funeral Home, continuing from 5:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson. Monday visitation will be from 9:00 a. m. to one hour prior to service at the church. Ron passed away December 29, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson. Ron was born February 18, 1943 in Dickinson, the son of Peter and Mary (Sadowsky] Kovash. He grew up in Dickinson, attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and graduated from Model High School in 1960. Ron attended Dickinson State University where he received a business degree. He began his accounting career working as an accountant for Bosch Lumber and Kolling Construction. On October 23, 1962, Ron was married to Donna Miller at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. In 1964 he began his public accounting business which he operated with various partners throughout the years. In 2006, his son, Dan joined Kovash & Dasovick Accounting firm. Ron and Donna made Dickinson their home for many years. Ron was a member of Queen of Peace Parish. He received the Distinguished Service award from Dickinson State University and Trinity High School and was an avid supporter of community development and received the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce Leadership Award in 2005. He served as State President of Public Accountants and was appointed to the State Board of Accountants by Gov. Olson. He was a member of the KC Club, Elks, St. Anthony, Stark Development Board, Trinity Foundation and Trinity Corp. Board. Ron especially loved and enjoyed his grandchildren. He also enjoyed following his children in all of their sports. He was known as a very kind and generous man and was a friend to all. You blessed our lives in so many ways. As a husband, you gave true meaning to the words love and commitment. As a father, your guiding force and gentle ways helped shape us. May your spirit continue to live within us so that we can continue to be the Christian role model that you were to us. Grandpa, we saw your eyes dance as we played in your presence. We know that with each kiss and simple hug that your love had no boundaries. Your friendship and all of the lives that you touched will be a living memorial to your generous spirit. We love you and we will miss you. Survivors include his wife, Donna, Dickinson, ND; four sons: Craig (Carrie) Kovash, Dickinson, ND, Pat (Joanne) Kovash, Fargo, ND, Todd (Kristi) Kovash, Bismarck, ND and Daniel (Brandi) Kovash, Dickinson, ND; two daughters: Roni Sue (Chad) Gilchrist, Bismarck, ND and KayLyn (Dion) Gefre, Dickinson, ND; nine grandchildren: Michaela Kovash, Kendra Kovash, Charlotte Kovash, Peyton Kovash, Jackson Gilchrist, Madelyn Gefre, Olivia Gefre, Drew Kovash and Jace Kovash; four brothers: Ray Kovash, Wilfred Kovash, Al Kovash and Hank Kovash all of Dickinson, ND; and one sister, Mary Dukart, Manning, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant daughters: Ronda Kovash and Maria Kovash; and a sister, Martha Karsky. A memorial has been established for the Dickinson Catholic Schools Foundation, P. O. Box 1177, Dickinson, ND 58601
