Ron passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson. Ronald J. Schneider was born April 9, 1952, the son of Andrew and Selma (Wieglenda) Schneider. He grew up and attended school in Gladstone. He was a single man who worked as a tree trimmer, in construction, with a honey company and as a farm hand through his years. He volunteered his time as a member of the Gladstone Fire Department. Ron was a kind and quiet man. Some would say he kept to himself a lot, but if you needed anything, he would be there in a heartbeat. He loved to be outside bird watching, riding his 4-wheeler, shooting targets, fishing or just simply taking a ride in his caprice to check out what was happening in town. He enjoyed his quiet time at home with his dogs, watching old westerns, reading magazines and playing cards. Ron also known as, “Speedy”, always had a story about old times and a home remedy he could share. Being around Ron always made you smile, his down to earth personality also made everyone feel right at home. He never wanted to be a burden to anyone, little did he know that he was simply a blessing to all. Speedy will be remembered as an honest, hard-working, kind-hearted, helpful, thoughtful, funny and a little bit stubborn man, all wonderful qualities that made him who he was. He will forever be in our hearts, in our thoughts and missed dearly. Ron is survived by his three sisters, Kathy Schneider, Connie Schneider and Rosie (Ed) Erhardt; two brothers, George (Mei Mei) Schneider and Gary Schneider; special niece and caregiver, Ammers Dinius; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Selma Schneider; and two sisters, Arlene Schneider and Sandy Dinius.
