Ronald Wissink

A funeral service for Ronald Wissink, 76, of Cooperstown, formerly of Beach, will be 11:00 a. m. , Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Burial will take place in the Beach Cemetery. Visitation for Ronald will be from 9:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m. , Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the funeral home. Ronald passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 at his home in Cooperstown. Ronald Dean Wissink was born November 19, 1939 in Bennett, NE, the third of 14 children born to George and Elena (Topp) Wissink. He grew up and attended school in Bennett. After his schooling, Ronald began working various jobs and spent the last 30 years buying antique furniture, restoring it and reselling it on the antique market. Ronald enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing. He also loved traveling and spent some time pulling a few slots at the area casinos. Music was a true passion of his and he enjoyed spending time listening to old country western music as well as some classical music. One highlight of his life was dancing with June Carter and would often be heard bragging of this to his friends and family. Ronald is survived by his sons, Lonnie Wissink of Dickinson, Lenny Ames of Watertown, SD and Zachery Wehrmann, of Dickinson; daughters, Lori Sievers of Glendive, MT and Lena Ames of Watertown, SD; five grandchildren, Benjamin & Ava Wissink, and Michael, Jeremy, and Hailie Sievers; his caretaker, Lynn Myers of Cooperstown; and special friend, Lila Redetzke of Watertown, SD. . Ronald was preceded in death his parents and his wife, Patricia Wissink.
