Rose was born May 20, 1911 at Dickinson, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Splichal) Dvorak. She grew up on the family farm southwest of Dickinson and attended a country school there. Because of her mother?s health, she stayed home at a young age to work and help with the younger children. On October 30, 1933, she was married to William J. Bren at Dickinson. They farmed southwest of Dickinson on the Dvorak homestead for a short time before moving to the New Hradec area where they farmed and raised their two boys. Bill passed away in 1966 and shortly after that time, Rose moved into Dickinson. She lived in her own home until 1998 when she moved to Evergreen where she has made her home since that time. Rose was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. She took pride in her home, garden and in making kolaches. In her earlier years, she enjoyed crocheting and embroidering. Rose?s true love was for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include two sons: James (Lorraine) Bren, Dickinson and Robert (Kathy) Bren, Gladstone; five brothers: Paul (Eva) Dvorak, Stanley (Emma) Dvorak, Tom (Mary) Dvorak and Tony Dvorak all of Dickinson and Vince (Lillian) Dvorak, Apache Junction, AZ; two sisters: Mildred Dvorak, Woodburn, OR and Emma (Lawrence) Sanders, Dickinson; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
