Rose Buresh

Our heavenly Father called Rose Buresh to his loving care on Saturday, May 6, 2006, at the age of 96. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a. m. , Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Jim Braaten celebrating. Interment will be Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, New Hradec. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 9 p. m. Monday, May 8, 2006, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson. There will be rosary and a prayer service led by Deacon Bob Stockert at 7 p. m. Monday, May 8, 2006, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home. Rose Steffan was born September 23, 1909, to Frank and Anna (Hibl) Steffan on the family farm in Billings County. She attended a rural elementary school in Billings County and Sts. Peter and Paul Elementary School in New Hradec. On November 9, 1927, she was united in marriage to Frank N. Buresh at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec. They made their home on the original Buresh family homestead in Dunn County for 20 years, until 1947, when they moved to a farm and ranch west of Manning, ND. In 1960, they left the ranch to reside in New Hradec. After her husband Frank passed away in March of 1992, she continued living in New Hradec until taking residence at the Villard Terrace Apartments in 2000. Her last year was spent at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson. Rose was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec, and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Rose was truly proud of her Czech heritage as evidence by her exceptional preparations of kolachy (made with homegrown poppy seed), special chicken noodle soup (using only homemade noodles), rohlicky, holubtse (cabbage rolls), borscht and other delicacies that her family and friends truly enjoyed. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church Rosary Society and Catholic Workman. Her other hobbies included gardening, embroidering, crocheting, bingo, playing cards, listening and singing along to old time music. Rose is survived: by five children, Robert (Marge) Buresh, Manning, John (Elaine) Buresh, Towner, ND, Bernard (Dorothy) Buresh, Lincoln, NE, Margaret (Don) Heiser, Woodbury, MN, and Darlene (Roger) Andres, Dickinson, ND; 28 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Mildred) Steffan, Dickinson; one sister, Lillian Pavlish-Hoerner, Dickinson; two sisters-in-law, Rose Steffan, Dickinson and Elsie Steffan, Graceville, MN; brother-in-law, Vincent Chalupnik, Graceville, MN, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Frank of 64 years; son, Albert; granddaughter, Joni Buresh; two great grandchildren, Austin Heiser and Courtney Englund; brothers, Joe, Robert and Frank Steffan; sisters, Mary Buresh-Chorne and Anna Chalupnik. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Benedict?s Health Center, 851 4th Ave. E. , Dickinson, ND 58601.
