Rose Doll, age 89 of Glen Ullin, died Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Marian Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Central Time on Friday, March 2, 2007 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with the Reverend Sebastian Schmidt OSB as Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM Central Time at the church with the Vigil service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Glen Ullin. Rose was born February 2, 1918 in the St. Joe area, near Glen Ullin, the daughter of Mathias and Marianna (Baker) Skalsky. She was raised and educated in St. Joe. On June 4, 1935 she married Alex Doll at the St. Joseph Church. Following marriage, they took over Alex?s parent?s farm in Grant County which they operated until 1976 when they retired and moved into Glen Ullin. In her retirement years Rose was active at the Senior Citizens, and the Christian Mothers. She also enjoyed quilting. Due to declining health Rose entered the Marian Manor in the fall of 2006 where she has resided since. She is survived by her children: Robert (Lupe), San Antonio, TX; Daniel (Joan), Limon, CO; Elaine (Melvin) Theurer, Atwater, CA; Douglas (Laura), Almont; Peggy Fischer, Mobridge, SD; Joyce (Walter) Zelinsky, Maine, MN; 20 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons: Harold, and Alex; six sisters: Gertrude, Katherine, Anna, Elizabeth, Marie, and Marianna, and two brothers: Frank and Joseph.
