A Funeral Rite for Rose Marie Ehresman, 80, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a.m. , Thursday, May 16, 2013 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Kregg Hochhalter officiating. Inurnment will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.


Visitation for Rose Marie will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. , Wednesday, May 15th at Stevenson Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p. m.


After a courageous battle with cancer, Rose Marie Ehresman passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on May 9, 2013.


Rose Marie was born to Joseph T. Kuhn and Caroline (Schneider) Kuhn on November 30, 1932 in Lefor, ND. When she was four years old her family moved to Dickinson and she attended St. Joseph’s School for eight years. She then attended high school at Dickinson High. She was married to Michael F. Ehresman on November 29, 1955 in Dickinson where they conceived their six children. While raising their children, she worked at JCPenney and developed a very successful career as a Merchandise Presentation Specialist. After 34 years, she retired November of 1989 in Dickinson. Rose Marie was blessed with a God given talent in the world of art. She perfected her talent by attending workshops and self-study. She won numerous awards for her pastel artwork including two Governor’s Choice awards with her artwork being displayed at the State Capital. She was a member of the Badlands Art Association for many years and served as President the last nine years of her life. Rose Marie’s other passions included spending time with her grandchildren/great-grandchildren, dancing, setting up displays for charity events/weddings and her love of animals. She donated many paintings to the Oreo Animal Rescue Foundation along with other charities. She spent the last five years of her life doing her artwork and dancing. She was the president of the Singles Club of Dickinson for two years.


Rose Marie is survived by her five sons: Kerry Ehresman of Dickinson, Barry Ehresman of Dickinson, Michael K. (Geraldine) Ehresman of Santa Cruz, CA, Tom (Beth) Ehresman of Senoia, GA and Chuck Ehresman of Los Angeles, CA; one daughter, Nancy (Deren) Williams of Windsor, CO; eight grandchildren: Shannon (Mary) Weflan, Cory Ehresman, Mitch (Sheila) Ehresman, Zach Ehresman, Carley (George) Gaede, Brandon (Lindsay) Ehresman, Maggie Parks, and Laura Hines; five great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Ray Schneider-Kuhn, Arnie (Mary) Kuhn and Jerry (Arlene) Kuhn.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Michael, and her sister Wanita Mosbrucker.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oreo Animal Rescue Foundation, 93 21st St East, Dickinson, ND, in her name.
