Rose Ellen Kruger, 84, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2004 at Fallon Medical Complex. She was born on June 3, 1919 in Huron, SD, the daughter of William and Corrinne Hackett. Rose moved with her family to Montana in 1920 and attended schools at Ollie, Ismay, Lame Jones, and Baker. She graduated from Baker High School in 1936. Rose married Ernie Kruger on August 29, 1937, and six children were born to this union. Together they resided in Baker. In October of 2003, Rose moved into Quality Care in Baker. Over the years, she enjoyed baking. Often, Rose would provide baked goods for the Frost Bowl, Lawler?s, and numerous people in the late 1950s and 60s. She loved to read, play cards, and especially watch her baseball team, the Atlanta Braves. Rose enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and her very special friend, Lolita Cameron. She also enjoyed the company and community of the people of Quality Personal Care. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernie; an infant daughter, JoAnn & daughter, Nancy Court; and a brother, Dan Hackett. She is survived by four children: Jean Walker of Billings, James(Carolyn) Kruger of Spokane, WA, Shirley (Randy) Martens of Baker and Robert (Kris) also of Baker; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and twelve great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will take place on Monday, Mar. 1, at 2 PM at the Bonnievale Cemetery. A reception will be held after the service at the American Legion Hall.
