Rose Kuntz

Funeral Mass for Rose Mary Kuntz, 81 of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Father Keith Streifel, celebrating. Burial will take place later this spring. Visitation will be Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. Rose Mary passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson. She was born April 6, 1929 in Dickinson, the daughter of Joseph M. and Rosemary (Hutmacher) Miller. Rose Mary grew up south of Dickinson where she attended the Frenzel Country School. She met the love of her life and was married to Adam Kuntz on November 3, 1949 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. To this union, Kathleen, Florian and James were born. Together, Rose Mary and Adam farmed in the Lefor area. In 1954 they moved northwest of Dickinson where they farmed until retirement. They continued to make the farm their home until Adam?s death in the spring of 2010. Rose Mary moved into Evergreen Assisted Living in the fall of 2010 and had made her home there since. Rose Mary was always very giving. She was truly devoted to her husband and family. She enjoyed playing pinochle and bingo. She and Adam enjoyed going on fishing trips with their family and friends. In her spare time, she also embroidered dish towels. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and loved any opportunity to be with her grandchildren. Rose Mary was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rose Mary is survived by two sons, Florian (Deborah) Kuntz, Belfield, ND and James Kuntz, Gladstone, ND; a daughter, Kathleen Djenab, Washington, DC; five grandchildren: Ryan Kuntz, Dallas, TX, Corey Kuntz, Boston, MA, Jennifer Kuntz, Portland, OR, Kari Kuntz, Long Beach MS and Alexis Kuntz, St. Paul, MN; one brother, Joe (Donna) Miller of Seattle, WA; four sisters: Betty Kuntz, Dorothy (Bill) Tormaschy, Evelyn (Richard) Wehner and Cathy Machunze all of Dickinson, ND; six sisters-in-law, Loretta Miller, Lefor, ND, Maggie Miller, Yakima, WA, Beverly Kuntz and Magdalen Kuntz, Dickinson, Shirley Guenther, Mohall, ND and Rose (Gene) Fitterer, New England, ND; three brothers-in-law, Victor Tormaschy, Richardton, ND, Leo J. (Mildred) Kuntz and Peter J. Kuntz; and many nieces and nephews. Rose Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Adam; her parents; five brothers: Art, Frank, Mike, John and an infant brother; three sisters, Laura Weiler, Lucille Tormaschy and an infant sister; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Miller and Eva Weiler; five brothers-in-law: Lawrence Vogel, George Weiler, Marcus, Henry and Fred Kuntz and Peter Weiler.
