Rose Richard

A funeral Mass for Rose Ann Richard, 63, of Belfield will be at 10 a. m. , Friday, August 7, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Belfield, ND, with Fr. William Ruelle celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Visitation for Rosie will be from 4 to 8pm, Thursday, August 6th at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a rosary and vigil service being held at 7 pm. Rose Ann Richard passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, August 2nd from injuries sustained in an accident. Rosie was born May 29, 1952 in Dickinson, the daughter of Albert and Emma (Chalupnik) Privratsky. She grew up on the family farm southeast of South Heart. Rosie graduated from South Heart High School where she was a cheerleader and involved in many school activities. She continued her education at NCB College in Rapid City, SD. Rosie later married her high school sweetheart, Roger Richard. They married on April 8th 1972 and spent the next 43 years on the Richard family farm SE of Belfield. Rosie was devoted to the Catholic faith and St. Bernard’s Church. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters, served many terms as President of St. Bernard’s guild and was a member of the Busy Bee homemakers club. She drove school bus for over 20 years and worked various jobs to supplement the family. Rosie was an excellent cook, with the best tasting food available anytime, day or night. She was known for her kolache, gipfolds, and pigs in the blanket. The annual family branding feed was always looked forward to by everyone. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, decorating, reading, music and dancing. Her garden and flowers were second to none. The lake home at Mosset Bay brought many years of enjoyment. She enjoyed water skiing and fishing. Family was her life, she was proud of her children and their accomplishments. Rose’s grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She will be dearly missed and forever loved. Rosie is survived by her husband, Roger; her five children: Becky (Jon-Eirik) Holm- Johansen, Loveland CO; Jason (Michelle) Richard, Fargo; Ben (Jessica) Richard, Belfield; Dusty (Christina) Richard, Belfield; Megan Richard (fiancé Trent Ochsner), Bismarck; 11 grandchildren: Elliott Holm-Johansen; Maizie, Lane and Gabe Richard; Jackson, Jones and Alexa Richard; Clay, Cole and Clint Richard; Caleb Frantz; her siblings, Laudie (Jean) Privratsky, Alice (Ron) Dukart, and Diane (Gene) Hoyt, all of Dickinson. She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Emma Privratsky.
