Rose Zastoupil

Funeral Mass for Rose Zastoupil, 95, of Dickinson, ND will be 10:00 a. m. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Austin Vetter celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Rosary and Vigil Service taking place at 7:00 p. m. Rose died peacefully, surrounded by her family, Sunday, July 29, 2007 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Rose (Kostelecky) Zastoupil was born August 7, 1911 south-west of Dickinson to Joseph and Mary (Krehlik) Kostelecky. She grew up and attended rural country schools. After the death of her mother, Rose played a vital role in helping raise her younger siblings. On October 21, 1930 Rose married Joseph Zastoupil at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple made their home on the family homestead south of Dickinson. It was here that they raised their family of nine children. The couple spent the rest of their lives farming. Rose truly enjoyed having her family come to visit. She will be remembered for her love of praying, enjoyment of gardening, especially watermelons and poppies and cooking. She is survived by her six sons, Benedict G. (Gladys) Zastoupil; David E. (Delores) Zastoupil; Norbert (Gladys) Zastoupil; Bernard (Bernie) Zastoupil; Daniel (Jean) Zastoupil; Joseph (Alice) Zastoupil all of Dickinson; two daughters, Sister Renee Zastoupil and Sister Rosanne Zastoupil both of Bismarck, ND; a daughter-in-law Georgian Zastoupil of Belfield, ND; a brother George Kostelecky of Dickinson, ND; three sisters: Philomen Barta, Christine Jirges, and Dorothy Kostelecky all of Dickinson; 44 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Rose is preceded by both of her parents, her husband, Joseph; a son, Martin; a grandson, Patrick; three brothers, Lloyd Edmund and Clement; three sisters: Agness Kostelecky; Mary Krehlik; Katherine Barta and Emma Splichal.
