Rosella Nelson, 81, Dickinson, died Saturday, November 27, 2004, at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson. Funeral services will be 10:30 a. m. , Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson, with Rev. Steve Tangen officiating. Interment will be in Rainy Butte Lutheran Cemetery, rural New England, North Dakota. Visitation will be noon ? 9 p. m. , Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather at 7 p. m. at the funeral home for sharing of memories. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Rosella Braaten was born November 25, 1923 in Twin Ridge, Minnesota to Jens and Gertrude (Pederson) Braaten. She was raised in Minnesota and moved to North Dakota in 1942. She married Roy Nelson on June 20, 1944 at Rainy Butte Lutheran Church. Together they lived and farmed near New England until the time of Roy?s death, when she moved to Dickinson. Rosella was a devoted wife and mother who always put others first. We will miss her caring ways and faithful guidance. She possessed compassion beyond measure and wonderful sense of humor. She was a member of Rainy Butte Church Women, Pioneer Homemakers Club, Sons of Norway, Elks and Eagles Clubs. Her hobbies included sewing, crafts, quilting, listening to music and baking lots of goodies. She was an excellent seamstress and spent many hours at her sewing machine. Rosella Nelson is survived by: two daughters, La Rae (Chuck) Piotrowski and Zona Davis, all of Dickinson; grandchildren, Jenna and Jill Davis, Dickinson, Sheyenne Hurley, Fairview, MT and Justin Nelson, Glendive, MT; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladine Tollesfrud, Mesa, AZ; two brothers, Harry Braaten, Las Vegas, NV and Elmer Johnson, Mott, ND. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Roy; two sons, Larry and Rollis Nelson; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; two brothers and three sisters.
