A Funeral Service for Rosie Bell, 79, of Mitchell, SD, formerly of Ekalaka, MT will be 11:00 a. m. , Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Ekalaka, MT with Pastor Wallace Fox officiating. Burial will take place in Beaver Lodge Cemetery. Rosie passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. Rosena “Rosie” Mary Bell was born to Mike and Etta (Wickham) Gross on September 15, 1936, in Ekalaka, MT. Rosie grew up in Ekalaka, where she attended school. Rosie met her husband Harold in Tillamook, OR. The two were married on December 1, 1956. After their marriage, Harold and Rosie lived in Tillamook for 10 years. Harold and Rosie moved to Levittown, PA. , where she provided childcare for neighborhood children. Later they moved to Cloquet, MN and then to Mitchell, SD. Rosie worked at Hardees during this time. She enjoyed waiting on customers and overseeing any birthday celebrations at the restaurant. She relished her conversations with her customers (many became her friends). In 2005, Harold and Rosie moved to Gering, NE, where they made their home until Harold’s death in 2008. After his death, Rosie returned to Mitchell, SD where she had lived since then. Rosie is survived by her three children; Kim (Joe) Gross, Virginia, MN, Kent (Patti) Bell, Gering, NE, and Kyra (Michael Brinker) Bell, Rochester, MN: five grandchildren, Cody (Laura) Blossom, Jared Blossom, Keenan Bell, and Drew and Callan Brinker and great-grandsons, Walter and Jack Blossom. A sister, Dorene (David) Mrnak, Ekalaka, MT; a brother, David (Vonnie) Gross, Gillette, WY and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents; Mike and Etta; three brothers; a granddaughter, Claire Brinker and a grandson, Keaton Bell.
